Young Democrats

As the General Elections loom closer we, the members of the Young Democrats, hereby declare and re-affirm our commitment and dedication to the principles and ideals of the Singapore Democratic Party.

As we get closer to the time when every Singaporean Citizen can exercise their constitutional right to cast his or her vote to determine the direction of the Nation for the next five years, we are ever mindful of the pressing need for improvements in our political system.

We firmly believe that our political system must observe the basic principles of a truly open and democratic society such as a pluralistic media landscape, equality before the law, and free and fair elections.

This is the direction our Nation needs to take if it going to face the challenges in the 21st Century without which her citizens will remain feeling voiceless, powerless and disenfranchised. This cannot be good for the continued well-being of our country.

It is precisely because of these principles that we have decided to come forward together as the Young Democrats. We believe that together with our senior colleagues in the Party, we will be able to make a difference in this coming General Elections.

We pledge to put in our best in order to give the electorate what they have been clamouring for all these years: A well-managed and effective electoral campaign worthy of their votes.

Pledged,

Young Democrats

Sorry if it's not relevant to this post, but since this blog has not brought out the humongous bonuses our PAP Ministers will get this year, I think it is very important for all yoursdp readers to know if they do not know already.....

Take an average PAP Minister like Mah Bow Tan. He now gets abt $200,000 pm in salary:

    1 Dec 2010.....Year-end bonus of 3.5 mths..... $700,000
    2 Mar 2011.....GDP bonus of 8 mths................ $1,600,000
    3 Apr 2011.....Performance bonus (4-11mths) say abt 7mths for MBT....................................................................$1,400,000

Guess what? In a matter of just 5 months Dec2010-Apr2011 our fat-cat Ministers will each get abt $3,700,000 or $3.7 million. Add in their salary for 5 mths of $200kX 5 mths =$1 million and you get a grand total of $4,700,000 or abt $5 million in just 5 months for each of them!!!

Of course the Prez, MM, SM and PM will get abt 30% more or a total of $7,500,000 for each of the 4 PAP fatter cats.

How do they justify these out-of-the world bonuses?
" We are not unlike the CEOs of the top international companies like IBM and the Oil companies. We are solely responsible for the deluge of big bucks coming into Singapore which is not a nation yet but a business conglomerate. We deserve the millions, so please don't envy us but applaud us for good work done?"

If you vote in these greedy fat-cats in May's GE 2011.....be prepared for more of the same if not more next year. And oh yes.....GST deft will rise to 10%......wanna bet?

Well, too bad! This is singapore faith. As mentioned before, even a real monkey, and or a donkey were to stand in the coming GE under the pap ticket, would lay a bet, that these animals, will win convincingly with flying colours, beyond any shadow of doubt. What a pity pathetic singaporeans. MAY GOD BLESS SINGAPORE. GOOD LUCK!

Allow me to add something for the PAP. Today has been reported in the ST, more new faces above the age of 32 are going to be introduced by the PAP. But anyone can see that these new faces are actually sons of the current PAP MPs. This has proven that Singapore does not pratice meritocracy at all as said by Lee kuan Yew but actually nepositm as said by DR Mahadir and the rest of the world. Its family business. Singaporean society is being increasingly stratified; and, for another, an elite class is being created from just a narrow segment of the population. Outside commentators have also criticized the city-state for not applying the meritocracy principle uniformly if your parent belongs to the PAP circle, you would be a rich man forever; they cite, for example, the disproportionate influence and presence of the family of the founding prime minister Lee Kuan Yew in both political and business circles. Singapore actually pratice nepotism not metriocracy. This has to be changed as it is not fair to the rest of us.

Do all the young democrats willing to serve this nation if their salaries are much lower than the average citizen, say SGD$ 4500 per month? Humility is a crucial condition for receiving God's blessing. Humility is not belittling ourselves; humility is ignoring ourselves, negating ourselves, and considering ourselves as nothing. I am serving the public without one cents in return, in fact i use my own salary to pay for the democratic cause in this nation. Passion can breed compassion for others .

Respected younger Singaporeans ,you can take the first steps to making things right for Singapore Families First by supporting the true pure spirit of democracy today. Get involved and get real with all Singaporeans. Love all people regardless of the political views or parties they embrace, look beyond the colour; love humanity.

Awesome Words

Compromise used to mean that half a loaf was better than no bread. Among modern statesmen, it really seems to mean that half a loaf is better than a whole loaf.
