Singapore Democrats

Judge Belinda Ang cited both Dr Chee Soon Juan and Ms Chee Siok Chin for contempt of court today. The Judge referred to a number of instances during the cross-examination of the Lees that led to her action.

One of the points cited by the Judge against Ms Chee was that the SDP leader had said "You already crippled us by not giving us a trial, at the assessment of damages, and then you further crippled us by allowing the striking out of our defence.

"And then, when Mr Ravi told you that he explained to the both of us, 2nd and 3rd defendants, that you will be giving us the latitude to cross-examine the Lees, you nodded your head, but you say that you don't remember doing that."

Another point Judge Ang cited was: "Yesterday you saw that my face was swollen as big as a gourd and you could see that I was in pain and I was in no condition to represent myself optimally in this court, and yet you continued with this session.

"[The doctor] has given me two days MC, but he says that he is pressed not to give a court MC for the leave of court, that he is pressed.

"Now, I ask you, your Honour, not that I have very much hope in this but I ask you to give us - you have already taken away our defence, you have denied us a trial - and I ask you not to limit, not to impose this guillotine which literally means chopping off - you have already chopped off our arms, our legs. What do you want next? Our heads?"

The Judge will hear the matter on Friday. The contempt hearing will be at 2.30pm in the same court.

She has also cited Dr Chee for contempt on several points one of which is the following:

Court: Dr Chee, I'm going to stop this line of cross-examination. It doesn't get us anywhere on the assessment of damages.

Dr. Chee: All right. Let me move on, your Honour. You have a situation where you again are claiming that your integrity is of the highest order. Would you agree with that, Mr Lee [Kuan Yew]?

Court: Irrelevant.

Dr Chee: – that you have –

Court: The witness is not required to answer.

Dr Chee: And I would like – well, Your Honour, just – he's brought up about integrity and I just want to be able to pursue that – that line just a little bit more. Is it the same integrity –

Court: Question is disallowed.

Dr. Chee: – and as a young man, I didn't – I believed you but now I'm reading declassified documents from London saying that somehow –

Court: Dr Chee

Dr Chee: Was – in his political situation, and that somehow –

Court: Your question is disallowed.

Dr Chee: – you had – I beg your pardon, your Honour?

Court: The question is disallowed. How is this relevant to the assessment of damages?

Dr Chee: You haven't even heard my question yet. I'll make my question and then you can disallow it, your Honour.

The court is obviously denying CSJ from having any possible access to ask relevant questions and cross examined LKY.. so wad is the point of the purpose of cross examination?

The Judge really has a poor sense of judgement. Wad a strange Judge sitting right inside the Supreme Court!
• Sg'lightningfork - formerly channelnewsasia forum leading participant
First, Justice Ang should also have talked about Lee Senior's contempt of court for barging in without honouring the court in attendance
(like bowing to the judge)

Second, i dont think you guyz appreciate what Lee Senior is really doing. by asking aggravated damages, he is underscoring the fact that Sg is a no-nonsense, business-only Sissy "Pussy" city=> Dr Chee's worth as an opposition politician comes down to the defamatory damages delineated in collars and scents
get what i mean? popeyes
Scientists are driven far away from this "dog" breeding arena of prehensile capitalists

till we meat again, lf signing off to the cheers of democracy for singapore spirit

i, for one, is most contemptuous of this kangaroo court and the presiding judge for cowering under political pressure. Chee Soon Juan, when you come to power one day, get rid of these kangaroos!
• Tan Tai Wei - Judge Not
Assuming Chee's submission posted below is sincere (as, indeed, so it seeems), and what is here posted does show Judge Ang's refusal to even hear Chee's question before ruling it out - and if this does exemplify the trend of the hearing throughout, then may I give this observation?

Remember the "trial" of Jesus? Whose trial was it? Jesus', or Pilate's, or the Jewish leaders'? Whom does history pillaries?
• Maximillian Chew - ONLY IN SINGAPORE!
To Anonymous.....Yes indeed, Kangaroo Court presided by Mother Kangaroo herself! But I'm sure she's just complying with "advice" from above her.So don't blame the poor woman entirely.
In all other first-world countries, what CSJ and CSC told the court are part and parcel of a robust defence against very serious accusations heaped on them. Only in uniquely exceptional S'pore does the Court take strong exceptions to these normal defensive questions and allude contempt of court on the hapless defendants!
What is more sinister is that because THEY are so
incensed and shell-shocked by the Chees' hard-hitting and in-your-face questionings that they must try this civil-to-criminal stunt in a bid to imprison the hapless siblings. They tah-boleh tahan them and want instant retribution.
Contempt of court? Nah, more like vampires can't take the strong light shining on them!
• Tan Tai Wei - Sense of Relevance
Two men are in court pleading for compensation to their public reputation and integrity being smeared by libel. The defendants raise questions meant to show that there are sectors of the 'public' who don't have that high a regard for the two's honour and integrity. Should they succeed, then that would lessen the purported damage to the two's reputation - say, not from "excellent" to "bad", but only from "good, maybe, but here and there questionable". And so,perhaps not 50 cents, but 50 dollars, and not 500,000.

Why were those issues judged irrelevant?
• Michael Chan - THEY JUST WANT TO GET EVEN LAH!
Simply put....they just want to get even with their National Pest and his sister.
Imagine...turning a civil case into a criminal case (without any previous warning) just to get their pound of flesh from 2 extremely brave democrats!
I worry for the future of this land where my children and grandchildren will grow up.
Not unlike the octogenarian 84 yr-old Despot, I'm also old and do not have many years left. But I know in my heart that b4 I go HOME, change will come as it did up north in MY. Be still my heart, there's light at the end of the tunnel....
• mahjongking - is dr chee credibile?
is interesting to see what were posted here and witnessing the entire trial in court... whatever is posted here seemed like "cut and paste"...

i do not know dr chee personally but i would like to post a few questions to dr chee and his SDP followers... hope they can answer my questions so i can have different opinion of dr chee and his party...

number 1: can dr chee explained why he was accused of being dishonest in NTU? did he used university funds for personal usage? why was he sacked eventually?

number 2: why was mr chiam see tong ousted when sdp was doing well under his leadership? what has mr chiam done to be ousted?

number 3: sdp under mr chiam managed to won 3 seats in parliament. when dr chee took over, there is ZERO... what is the reason for his failure?

number 4: why did dr chee apologized to mr lee kuan yew and mr goh chook tong and then later said he was forced to? please remember that nobody can force a man of strong conviction to do anything. if dr chee is willing to go all the way to court to defend himself, why apologized at the first place?

number 5: dr chee was given ample time to prepare his case against the defamation suit filed by mr lee and mr goh... why dr chee did nothing and was in taiwan for a fellowship? is it a serious allegation that dr chee would like to defend if he claimed that he did nothing wrong? is dr chee afraid of facing the music and did not know what to do but want to save his face?

number 6: i noticed in some of sdp protests, children were involved. i have never seen such things in protests here in singapore or overseas... can dr chee explained? i watched "nation under lee" on youtube and noticed in the last part of the movie that a little girl was in the midst of a protest held at istana... she was crying when dr chee was led away by the police... i presumed the little girl is dr chee's daughter... how would a sane man brought her daughter to a protest when he anticipated that police will come and he will be arrested? is dr chee putting her daughter in a unsafe situation because you never know what will happen in a protest... is dr chee a responsible father?

number 7: it seemed that dr chee will attack pm and mm when there is opportunity... some of the attacks are ridiculous... is it something personal?

number 8: dr chee claimed the government is corrupted like NKF, can he forward the people of singapore the evidence to his claim?

number 9: (been asking this for a long time) dr chee claimed that the press in singapore is controlled by the government and the government is covering up the wrongdoings of nkf... what i observed is that the straits time under spf was the press that uncovered the things in nkf... so what dr chee got to say about this?

i hope dr chee and the people from sdp will answers my simple questions... thank you!

2)Dr Chee and Ms Chee cited for contempt of court - How about contempt of court cited for PM/MM for barging in court room and especially their Singh Poodle for bringing in more RCs??

3)Expect the Expected in this country being ruled by clowns.

4)They are so afraid of giving up power, power of earning so much money at the expense of integrity.

5)One law for ordinary citizens and one law for them? What happen to the NKF court cases agst the ex-CEO?? All hushed up?

6)What happen to WKS? Blamed on "ikan bilis"

To the retard still ignorant the government was covering up the wrong doing of NKF:
1. Did he know SPH was pressing TT Durai for an out of court settlement (to avoid political backlash)?
2. Did he read Ho Ching's full page letter of support for TT Durai?
3. Did he know the patron of NKF attended court in support of TT Durai?

• FOI Advocate
Ultimately, its the freedom of information which allows a reasonable judgement to be made by people based on a balanced representation of information. That is why there has been always a call for transparency in governance. Looking at what's reported here by SDP and what being reported in the MSM one might wonder if they are talking about the same case. I believe Chee had a cause when he asked for a open court hearing. Now than the cross-examination was held in open, the best thing would be to have the entire transcript published for people to make their own judgement of the court proceeding for fairness in administering justice. This must be done quickly as a believe there is a avenue to expulge statements from the official records (pls enlighten me on this if I am wrong) and I I think this has been done before. In Singapore we have the OSA which limits information and not much can be said about transparency let alone accountability. The Mas Selamat case was on example. The release of the British archive records are another example when information has brought into question earlier claims and versions of history. Unless we have to ability to demand for the information, and not accept excuses after excuses it will forever be the word of the people in power whick will prevail and if people accept only that as the gospel truth, like some have shown here, the future holds major shocks for everyone.

Dr Catherine Lim's Letter to the Straits Times on the Mas Selamat Scandal
Dr Catherine Lim's letter published in the Straits Times on May 28, 2008. It is the original letter, containing the last sentence which had been left out by the newspaper editors

2)I wish to express deep disappointment, shock and pain that in a national scandal of unprecedented magnitude and public outrage, it is only the little people who are held accountable and punished. By now, they are probably too frightened to appeal or seek redress.

3)SPH is such a coward that even the last line they cut off- trying to fool the public!

4)Lees want to control every section of our lives!

push on , you never walk alone
• elitocracy - Not a call to censorship
Hi Benjamin,

I was not calling for censorship; that would put SDP at the same level of PAP.

The idea of a moderator is to prevent abuse of the forum. Someone posting unpopular opinions is not abuse, even if a lot of readers do not like it.

What I am suggesting is that the moderators should examine whether it is appropriate for someone to post multiple times the same material to gain an unfair exposure.
• Mike - too late to regret
CSJ has not been wise.

Time out for him already.

When CSJ was still a baby, MM Lee was already leading Singapore.

CSJ should respect MM for what MM has achieved for Singapore.

without PAP and MM Lee, Singapore could be swallowed by other countries during the 1960s Confrontation with Indonesia..

And all Singaporeans would be subject to harsh rule by foreign powers.

Now CSJ talking about human rights and democracy and freedom..

It is MM Lee and PAP that has given Singapore freedom from invasion by other countries during those early years of Singapore independence.

Then CSJ grew up in a safe Singapore and then now he turns against the government and PAP.. How ungracious of him!

People seldom remember that PAP is the party that brought Singapore through the difficult years..

It would be terrible for Singapore and all of us if Singapore were to fall into foreign hands at that time.

Give PAP and LKY their due respect

• elitocracy - Suggestions to improve the website
Hi SDP,

It is heartening to see the SDP website growing at a fast rate.

I think one of the issue that you guys will face very soon is that your moderators may be overwhelmed and articles will take a long time to get "published".

U may want to introduce a ranking system, much like what slashdot.org has done. I can help out if u want to look into that. Just email me privately.

Regards.
• Mike R.
Hi,

mahjongking, I feel your comment is inaccurate in point number 6. About bringing children to a protest.

I come from the USA. I can remember seeing children marching with parents in peaceful protests. For example, during the Iraq War protests. The parents only let the kids do a political march because they felt it was safe for them. It sounds like a scary situation you have in Singapore if the marches aren't safe. :(

Sincerely,
Mike R. from San Francisco

To Mahjongking,
There is nothing wrong in bringing children to the protest. The protest is just a march,it is peaceful, not a riot where water cannon or chemical is sprayed.A lot of singaporeans I talk to are kiasu, kiasi, ke kiang, ke poh and kiam siap.5 Ks of singaporeans. I think mahjongking belongs to this group. We must change our mindset, otherwise we can't progress, everytime govt say this is good then we follow blindly,we are being brainwashed since kindergartan PCF time. Our life is just like a robot manipulate by the owner.

they would prefer to go watch a spongebob squarepants concert if given a choice...

why are children seen in a protests? because their irresponsible parents brought them along with a motive...

• Yoong Kheong - Disappointed with Dr. Chee
After reading the papers and the content that SDP put up on its website, I can only sigh and say I'm really disappointed with Dr. Chee.

If SDP thinks that DPM Wong should resign over the Mas Selamat issue, then Dr. Chee should resign from SDP for his damage done to the party.

My analysis would be that the SDP is trying to use the platform of the Court to gain publicity and to inform the public of the lack of democracy in the Singapore's system. But I guessed it backfired with the reports on the character of Dr. Chee such as the Hunger Strike with Glucose Water...

Anyhow, if SDP really has to wind up, perhaps this site should still stay but renamed as SDPeriodicals.
• Quotes from JB J - ST to accurately reflect sentiment on the ground.
1)Our message to the government is simple: you cannot have your cake and eat it too. You cannot claim to be a hands-on government of strong leadership and disclaim command responsibility when it matters, [eg: MAS Selamat, NKF cases]

2)Our message to the national press today is similar: you cannot keep your monopoly on the minds of Singaporeans and insult their intelligence at the same time.

3)Singapore Press Holdings has been given a monopoly of Singapore’s print news market, it is therefore imperative for ST to accurately reflect sentiment on the ground.

The Chee's cretae so many funny act, deserve to be throw in prison for the rest of his life, we singaporean are enjoying a good life, in return we sacrifice some freedom of speech, what's wrong with it? make so much complaint and create so much public attention and social unrest, think should kick the chee's to pedra branca and make him stay for life there
• Kai Xiong
unknown,

I have yet to see the social unrest you speak of. You use that word but you do not appear to know what it means.

Continue to live in the well for all you want. But don't stop the Chees and activists like me who see a better world outside and persuading everyone else to come with us.

Society is made of you and me. You, like the government, have no right to stop us from deciding and convincing people on how society should be run. You can convince everyone not to listen to us but neither you nor the government has a right to shut us up with draconian laws.

If you like well life just fine, great. Many of us don't. We will break it and dig with our bare fingers if we have to. We refuse to live in an artificial prison created by a select group. PAP is not our god. We will draw our own boundaries. We will not let PAP play god.

If one day your good life is no more because the PAP have decided so and shit hits the fan, remember that you signed away your rights today. You will have no power to stop them.
• Singa Crew
mahjongking,

You posted your observation and question about bringing children to protests, and some readers were kind enough to answer your question. Your replies to them however, were childish and insolent.

Now, let me get back to the points you raised. You said you have never seen children in protests here or overseas? Yet at the same time, you mentioned you noticed in SDP protests (held locally) children were involved. The 2 statements cannot both be true at the same time. So either you weren't thinking or you were lying.

Then someone from San Francisco confirmed that children participated in peaceful protests with their parents. So either you were sorely mistaken or you were lying.

Instead of thanking the kind reader from San Francisco for clarifying your doubts, you launched into a mindless recital of your diet (rice) and hobby (golee). Was that even relevant?

And I am sure calling him 'Mike Rambutan' was really mature of you. That really raises the truth value of your posts!

So what are you? A thoughtless fool or liar? Or both?

btw, you can read about the Chiam See Tong affair in the FAQs section.

http://www.yoursdp.org/the-party/faqs

Next time, read the FAQs before posting questions. It saves time and maybe people won't be so annoyed with you.

Now, don't you dare start ranting about how I don't respect your rights to free speech. It is not your views I am against, but your behaviour.

• Won't Can't Sing
I refer to Quotes from JB J - ST to accurately reflect sentiment on the ground.

I would like to echo your list of reasons mentioned earlier, which I thought was absolutely true.

PAP can never shut the mouth of those concerning true democracy activists out there from calling for more rapport and support.

However and in fact, what SDP did was purely to share with our fellow S'poreans and reason with the G'ovt, the purpose of being transparency. E.g. Such as PAP vs NKF issues.

Nevertheless, CSJ will face the consequences for contempting the Court. What about LKY barging into the Courtroom without bowing to show any respect to everyone sitting in the Court?

Does LKY has any special privileges from doing so? Well, it is all for you to judge and decide.

Unknown,

I used to think that life was good in Singapore too until I came to America. Then I came to realize what a shitty country Singapore is under the rule of Lees. I have already took part in numerous protests and peaceful demonstrations even though I'm still holding a student visa (yes many children can be seen in protest and I'm sure they will be so proud of themselves when they grow up).

Currently I'm pursuing my bachelor degree in engineering, something impossible if I were to stay behind in Singapore since I didn't even finish my secondary education. Yes I will be condemn for life in Singapore but I was given a second chance here after I took some test to prove that I am ready to go to university even without finishing high school. And yes after I graduate I will work and serve America with all my heart, even though I'm still holding a Singaporean passport. I have also met many Singaporeans here who are much more intelligent than me. They are pursuing master degree or even Ph.d and many of them couldn't return to Singapore because of NS (this is another very important issue for Singaporeans but until there is free speech and a fair election, there will be no one to speak out).

Anyway all I want to say is thank you Dr. Chee and everyone around you. Please please persist in what you are doing. I'm ashame that I cannot do Singapore any service by leaving instead of joining you in the fight. I and many other Singaporeans hope to return one day to work and serve only if the political situation can change to the better. Perhaps after the death of Lky?

I want to wish you all the best and I believe that god is with you.

• g_e - How to shoot yourself in the foot - 101.
mahjongking,

You're the one who's 'gong'. Remember that there are 1000's of pairs of eyes looking at your ridiculous comments about children at protests.

By his own account, LHL as a young lad sat at his father's feet during all his rallies and the activities involved in political campaigning. It's a matter of record.

This was at a time when crowds were allowed to be far more boisterous, rallies conducted from the backs of lorries, no quarter asked for or given. Much more 'dangerous' for a young boy, don't you agree?

By your foolish posts, you've just accused your hero of the very thing that you're condemning other people here for.

Better apologise before he sues you for defamation, eh?
• Face Reality - Wake up from PAP Slumberland
Hey Posters

Pls do not get distracted by "paid PAP doggies who are afraid to face the reality - that PAP's rule is coming to end for sure.

No one in their right mind, will belief our super coward ST bullshit stories nor PAP's propaganda thru the ST day in day out!

As Ngiam said,"PAP is a very unbalanced govt- they swing from one extreme to another and then use ST news to cover up their mistakes/lies and deceits.

Just look at MOH, Khaw - so many policies at the expense of people to make monies.

Pls Singaporeans Wake Up from PAP Slumberland.
• GREAT NEWS - JB J TO FIGHT FOR CHEES
It was great to know that JB J will be defending the Chees in the 'Contempt of Court case.

He is coming from JB and hope Lee Court will accede to his request of adjournment

Since Counsel Ravi is also sued - hope JB J can help them out .

Its going to be tough fighting the Lee's Judiciary System :?: :?:
• ANNOUNCEMENT - PROMOTIONS
This is to announce :

Aunty Ang and Uncle Singh will be promoted to Grade A Scale for using only 2 words in Lee's Court:

"Irrelevant" and "Sustained"

It goes to show - that you spent half your life studying, paying Uni fees to end up taught to say only these 2 words!

"Top" Talented Civil Servants???
• Prayers for Chees and Party - Good Luck
Its encouraging to see at this age, JB Jeya wanting to help us Singaporeans see justice after all what he went thru with Slave Drivers PAP!

But do i wonder if it would make any difference to Lee's Court of Justice??
• Congratulations Chees and JB J - Unite to fight the Super-Bullies
Well Done JB Jeya.

You are indeed a good man.

But I feel so sad that you are all facing the same Lee Court of Justice!

Aunty Ang and Uncle Singh better wake up-how long you both want to hide behind the Lees?
• Chew
My analysis would be that the SDP is trying to use the platform of the Court to gain publicity and to inform the public of the lack of democracy in the Singapore's system. But I guessed it backfired with the reports on the character of Dr. Chee such as the Hunger Strike with Glucose Water...
Your analysis is flawed. You need to ask, who started the lawsuit.
• Chew
Why do you people still want to support a fruitcake??
You mean Lee Kuan Yew? Ya, I was wondering too. Could it be the million dollars salaries, the power to barge into courtroom while it was in session, or the use of propaganda mouthpieces to silence critics, maybe the promise of guarantee of a seat in GRC, free scholarship for their offspring, etc. etc.
• mahjongking - to g_e and singa
when did i say LKY is my hero? both of you from sdp?

i never said that i supported the pap or LKY...

if LKY brought his son to rallies, i dun think that is right cause it can be dangerous... is not fair to the boy...

my question to dr chee and people of sdp is still the same... why do you need to bring a little girl to a protest? to film her while she is crying when her father was arrested by police? what is the rationale and benefits of this? i don't know... come on! speak to me! answer my question! don't avoid my question! don't hide!
• Gary Teoh
It is great to learn that JBJ comes a long way from JB, his "adopted City" to fight for democracy.Cheers to JBJ and M Ravi. The only two lawyers who dare to face LKY.
• tunkudon
god speed !! god help CHEE
• elitocracy - How much judges are getting
Take a look at Singapore Budget 2008 for the Judicature at
http://www.mof.gov.sg/budget_2008/revenue_expenditure/attachment/JUD_EE2008.pdf

Page 1 under item number 1400 "Other statutory appointments" - $35M is allocated.

Under Pg2, it is reviewed that there 23 statutory appointments - 1 CJ + 2 Judges of Appeal + 20 Judges

In other words, the average salary of a judge now is about $1.5M/year or 2.5 peanuts worth.
• NiceSow - Where is the Law Soceity of Singapore ?
Where is the Law Society of Singapore ?
What is their view on this case?
Is the Society neutral or neutered ?
Is the society allowed/willing to comment at all ?

Perhaps they may not comment on this contempt of court case as it is ongoing ... but .... on the case of Summary Judgment and on the case of assessment of damages, surely they can have their view ...
Do we have to wait longer for their comment ? ... or they just have no view ? ... very worrying.
• Insulted
Understand JBJ is representing the Chees for this and have ask for a adjourment as JBJ is not free today.

People, guess the verdict?
• Gary Teoh
Law Society can't comment on politics or anything to do with court case.It already being crippled by the govt since Francis Seow's time .
• John
Just for the record before I pen my comment. I am neither supporter of PAP nor do I care for the opposition. And yes, I am not paid to write. I am on neutral ground and will vote for any contestant or contesting party that I feel will do good for the well being of the country and its future.

I see interesting exchanges on a case where should not had existed. Personally, I think CSJ courageous but he is a nutcase. SDP can have better representation if you are to continue to survive.

What do you really want to fight for? Go to the woods and do some soul searching. Imagine you are way backed in 1950s and assumed that the PAP and LKY does not exist. Do you seriously think we will be exchanging views like what we are doing now? Do you think you will be looking at today's Singapore landscape and with an economy that has one of the highest per-captial income in the world? Yes, it is hypothetical isn't it? But the reality you see now is you cannot deny the fact that the governing party has done well to make this happen, whether you like it or not, that is the fact. So, psychologically, when people are well fed and given the opportunity to gain exposure from elsewhere, they start to make comparison based on a specific interest and value. So I read, I want freddom of speech, freeom of choice, more transparency...etc. Sound so familiar right?

Now, my question. You want to fight for what you stand for? At what cost? Are you really freedom figthers? If you are just like those early days freedom fighters in America or South Africa...etc, go all the way, gather your strength and stand counted even if you know you defy the governing rules. That is what real freedom fighters do, not just exchanging virtual views. But again, how many of you will really do just that? Even if it meant to give up your job, your current cosy living condition..etc Is it worth doing it? Are you living in a tyranny state? Please spare me the nonsense of telling me PAP control everything. They govern with rules and if you have facts (not in context or fabrications) to contest any wrong doing, justice will be serve, even it had to be resolved to ICJ.
People, grow up! Just so sad to see so many ungracious mind. Go figure, if you are the pioneering member of a startup company that virtually have to make ends meet without adequate resources but miraculously you made it and grow the company into one of the listed fortune 100, then come along a new bunch of investors who had benefitted from your prudent stewardship and say to you, "its time for you to go", thank you very much, we don't need yu anymore. I would like to see how gracious you can get to tackle this. Saying it is easy, doing it requires unshaken nerves and will.
Even I do not know CSJ or buy his ideas, (I even label him a nut-case) I believe CSJ started off with good intention, but he got carried away by his ego thinking he can ride above laws. Some of you even tried to equste him with Martin Luther King and Ghandi (please, can't you hear these two grand dude sobbing?). Please, people, get a sense of reality. A well read person does not automatically turn you into a politician. Please spare me the drama on "we want democracy, freedom of speech, freedom of choice...etc" Do you really know what you are in to? If you guys are so good that you made out you are, you would have already contested and voted in. Please spare me the vote rigging and PAP control shit. Show that you are ready to die for common Singaporean with a cause that can win the support from the majority of Singaporean. Its not too late to plan for the next election or future elections. Real "freedom" fighters are gracious and will continue its crusading without resorting to such low level tactics of name calling, fabricated allegations...etc.
I like to ask a question, if you guys are so supportive of the oppostition's movement, why are they so lack of funds to fight against such cause? Did you guys really do your dues or just lip service? Strange isn't it? How to compete when you are not even united with a common synergy let along asking me to vote you into the parliament and surrender Singapore future well being in your hands. And further more, I had not seen something substance that convince me to do so.
Look, in any country in the world of democracy, the state of the economy is still the number cause of concern. Democracy alone cannot stop poverty. Democracy with unmature citizens can caused even greater damage then do any good. Look around you, its not hard to find examples. So you want democracy? you have to first grow up and be matured enough to handle it. Is Singapore ready for that? Ask yourself and please be candid with your answers.
• Walking all over you - lONG WINDED....John
Don't be so ridiculous!

What kind of a communistic state do you come from?

No man is above law only one is GOD!

MM so what?? You mean he is mistake-proof!We, citizens voted them/him in so ensure they behave!

Respect begets respect! Apparently you have no respect for yourself that is why you allow such pp'le to walk all over you.

W/o Chee they will step all over you, if its oK with you. Wake up, man.

Put on your thinking caps before replying. Good
• mahjongQUEEN - A Dear John Letter.
Dear John,

Oh, how I hate to write! Dearest John, I must let you know tonight. That my love for SDP has died, like our justice in a fright. And tonight I love another, dear John.

You know, John, I was on the brink of joining the Dark Side (no, not the PAP, you silly goose, don't tease your Auntie like that!) when I came across your inspiring message and I can say honestly to you, I was so moved I couldn't stop the tears rolling down my cheeks. Had to rush out straightaway for $1 of tissues from the old lady collecting cardboard outside.

What a way you have with words! What a command of language! The elegance, the beauty, the sheer emotional content of your post puts Chee's closing address to shame in its mastery of soaring prose. I don't mind telling you that I sat in stunned silence after reading it and felt quite faint with excitement. Nations have gone to war on less. And the wonder of it all is that you're actually NEUTRAL! That was the clincher for me, the winning 'pong'! Wicked, man!

John, you may not know this but my husband mahjongking and I have been fighting like cats and dogs over my infatuation with the SDP and he even threatened divorce if I didn't stop being so silly. You have saved our marriage in making mine eyes see the glory of the coming of the Great Leader and the anointing of the son! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, dearest John.

I'm still surprised and shocked that I was so easily taken in by false prophets that promised me freedom, rights, equality and all that ang moh jazz. What on earth was I thinking? Everyone knows you can't eat those things, right? Doh, I'm still kicking myself for being so stupid, so ignorant, so naive, so, well...dumb. But don't you worry, now you've opened Auntie's eyes to the real truth that the PAP is Singapore and Singapore is the PAP, I shall spread the word to my best friend chapjikilady and all our kakis and we shall overcome!

Can you keep a secret, John? I'm 'slightly' pregnant! Yes, you heard right, and I want you to be the first to know. Of course being a man you probably don't know exactly what that means so I'll tell you that it's something like being 'near' psychopathic, but somewhat better. You feel nauseous in the morning if you're pregnant and nauseated all day if you're accused of the other one, get it?

I was going to call our baby mahjongkid but my hubby said that would be in bad taste. I think he's right as his taste is impeccable, so I'm toying with naming it either Harry or Belinda as a tribute, what do you think? Boleh tahan or not?

Keep fighting the good fight, John, the truth will always out!

Love and kisses to you, Nick, Mike, and all at home,

mahjongQUEEN.
• mahjongking - sdp bringing children to a protest
i have been asking this question of why sdp brought children along to protest many times in this website... it seemed that those who replied claimed that they are not sdp supporters and none offer an explanation...

i will ask again! why children are brought along during sdp protests? why sdp film will captured images of a child crying when dr chee was arrested? what is the motive?!!!!
• mahjongQUEEN - kids banned from sdp protest
Hubby,

Don't worry, lah. I promise I'll never take our kids to those deadly SDP protests, ever. OK?

Now don't be so obsessive about that website and come eat your moey. It's getting cold already.
• mahjongking - to ah john and my lovely wife mahjong queen
ah john ah, sorry that i did not teach my wife properly... tonight i will teach her a "lesson"... hehe... maybe make her knee infront of me and say sorry for suan siao you... hehe, i macho right?

this stupid wife of mine ah... secretly play chapjiki without my knowledge... pregnant also didn't tell me... john ah, why you the first one to know ah? are you the actual father? i wear green hat???? oh no..............

seriously, if the baby is mine... i will name it siao juan or siao chin... what you think? nice boh?
• mahjongQUEEN - You looking for trouble, ah?
Hubby ah,

You spend all night banging out mindless messages pimping the PAP instead of doing your manly duty how can you expect to start a family, har? You think I'll just wait and wait, ah? Can't write two coherent sentences like John and you want respect.

Well, at least you stopped your obsessive nonsense about kids and protests. What next? Dr. Chee's hairstyle not to your liking?

Do you realise every time you and your numb-skull PAP cyber-kaki visit SDP's website its stat counter goes up and up exponentially? You idiots are the ones helping them to win the Number 1 Political Website in S'pore award - AGAIN. Working against your own side also don't know, so stupid.

Now come and eat your moey before I get really angry and twist your ear.
• John - Direct Response to Mahjong QUEEN
What a silly mistake I have made. Just in case you think otherwise, I am referring to my typo errors in my previous post.

We are expressing our views on a public issue and if you are a true crusader of Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Choice as you guys think you are, why get personal?

If this is your state of mind and maturity and the sort of "Freedom of Choice" and "Freedom of Speech" that you are preaching, I rest my case.

Anyway, thank you for your compliments. By the way, I can't be having your baby, how can it be? Oh yes, I forgot to tell you that I have been GAY all my life. Nice try with your story. However, if you are really pregnant, 不要动了胎气哦,小孩是无罪的。

Mahjong King, it can't be my child la, I think you better check with your wife again. 你也大人有大量,原谅你的Mahjong QUEEN, 谁人无措?知错能改,善莫大焉。

By the way, I do not know what happen to my earlier reply to Mahjong QUEEN. I think it might of got lost during the auditing. So, I am not sure whether this reply will reach you. So I save a copy this reply just in case.
