What kind of a society are we building for our young ones? What are their aspirations? Are they going to live in a country that is different from ours, one which is free and democratic? We hear from them in this year's National Day Message from the SDP.
Singapore has became so competitive that only the elite of the elites can survive. I was rejected in my job interview today, not because I was not qualified for that job, but because in 1 job vacancy, there were 20 applicants, and unless you are extraordinary, you wont get that job.
This intense competition is undesirable and the fault lies with the government. But the same competition was not shared with the ruling party itself. I dont see the PAP having to compete with 20 other opposition parties to be the ruling party. Maybe we can import other foreign opposition parties into singapore to compete.

Personally highly impressed by the professional way this video was made. The directorship, the script and the cast and flow are well choreographed.
The children are so well indoctrinated by SDP. Their parents, most likely SDP members, must be so proud. Their children have been well molded and are calibrated to become good candidates for future generations of liberal advocates.
I'm more impressed that some of these very young ones can articulate such profound political ideology of free speech and their implications in this video. Must have taken them a long time to memorise the script The first boy bears total resemblance to the way Mr Chee speaks, right down to his intonation, mannerism and gestures! Perfect.

Amazing!!! Slowly but surely I am seeing hope!!! The end of the lees era is near!!! LKY if you are reading this, I want you to know what a coward you are. It is so selfish that you would transfer a nation of people into cowards so that you and your son (who's next, your grandson?) can stay in power. Curse you old fart!!!
Sorry I couldn't join in this historical struggle against this coward. I am enjoying every freedom I have here in USA. Yes, I am in the evil place with lots of riots and violence. And no, I would rather die than to return to Singapore. God bless all of you here in SDP!!!

Amy Khor has been quoted as saying: "It is important to raise awareness among the young so they can begin adopting an environmentally friendly lifestyle now. This way, it will become second nature to them in the future and they will carry the habits through their lives."
One neglected aspect of the discussion on environmentalism that has been neglected so far is the toxic atmosphere created in Singapore by the PAP's political culture, and what penalties to impose on the pollutants themselves which is PAP members. (I lean heaviliy towards a mandatory death sentence for them.)
Thankfully, the SDP has a headstart in raising awareness of this impending environemtal disaster to the young, so we can spare Amy Khor the agony of putting on this charade of wanting to correct a problem that she's had an active hand in bringing about.
Maybe not the next National Day, but when these kids grow up National Days will always be happy ones.

quantum - Old People Party
Looking at this, I can't help but think of PAP and SDA as old men parties with people like Lee Kuan Yew, Goh Chok Tong and Chiam See Tong around.

quantum - More teaching, less propaganda
Singapore public schools should spend more time on real teaching and less time on propaganda.

Atobe - A day to reflect and remember
On this historical date – 9 August – Singaporeans should always look back to remind us of this important date.
What were the events that led us to this fateful date – even as we are immersed in the cacaphony of the preferred propaganda from the Pro Alien Party that is similar to the ‘vuvuzelas’ ?
The evening before Singapore’s independence date of 9 August 1965 – there was a flurry of activities in preparation for the Oscar performance of a life time – as was reported by a UK Embassy staff.
“Do not take pictures of ME smiling”

.
Sadly for Singaporeans, much of the historical events that led up to the declaration of Singapore’s independence had to be kept SECRET for more then 45 years – in a file that was ironically named “Albatross”.
This SECRET file was only revealed briefly in the memoirs of Dr Goh Keng Swee; and Singaporeans will never get to know - “The secret that Dr Goh Keng Swee will carry to his grave”

Firstly, thank you for your efforts in fighting corruption in the guise of democracy in singapore.
The nation is being bled dry from the inside and anyone who is brave enough to pick up a torch to look for rats within the coffers gets silenced.
I feel quite sorry for the young in SG. But i have to advise that everyone who can leave should leave. simply because no one has 15 years to wait when perhaps progress can actually happen. The thing is even if you have left, there are scores of others who are waiting in line to get in. you wont be missed even if you are a fourth generation Singaporean.
The unfortunate solution is to use education and opportunity and springboard away from SG.
use it like a hotel because the nation treats you like a servant.
ultimately, you cannot betray the trust of the people and then turn around and ask for respect.
This intense competition is undesirable and the fault lies with the government. But the same competition was not shared with the ruling party itself. I dont see the PAP having to compete with 20 other opposition parties to be the ruling party. Maybe we can import other foreign opposition parties into singapore to compete.
