Singapore Democrats

Following our call for financial support on Monday, we received a few very generous donations from our supporters. We want to take this opportunity to say a big thank you.

While these contributions will go a long way to help us in our fight for the next elections, we still have a long way to go to match the PAP.

We are in the frontline of the fight against this authoritarian government (read Dr Chee Soon Juan's We must fight the PAP on all fronts), and we need to replenish our ammo, refuel our tanks, and restock our food supplies.

This is where we ask all of you, our supporters, to back us up and to ensure that as we take the battle forward, our backup supplies remain solid and well-stocked. Only with adequate resources can we fight the good fight. We call on all of you to donate to the cause.

None of our members and workers draw any kind of salary for the work we do. Everyone in the party works on a voluntary basis. It is truly a labour of love, love for our country and love for democracy.

But we need funds for our on-going operations, especially to print and distribute flyers. This is our only lifeline to the majority of the residents who do not frequent the Internet. They still depend on the state-controlled media for their information.

And almost nothing is being reported by the Singapore Press Holdings or the MediaCorps about the activities of the SDP. We have to keep the electorate informed about what we are doing and about the issues.

We do not whinge or complain. That is not our character. We will persevere. We will do what it takes to climb that mountain to get to our destiny.

But we need your help, we need your financial support. Elections are just months away and we need to step up our operations. Don't wait till election time to help us, by then it'll be too late because there are only eight days for campaigning.
