As a nation build by Chinese, Indian, Malay & European immigrants - Singaporeans in general welcome educated and skilled foreigners that can contribute to our society and economy. But the PAP government has gone too far with their liberal foreign talent policy.

PAP ministers bonus are pegged to the GDP performance of Singapore. As such it is in their interest to pump primed the economy by bringing cheap labor and allowing property price to rise each year as it would lead to GDP growth and more bonus for themselves.

The result of this liberal labor policy is a degradation in living standards for the average Singaporean. We have seen overcrowding in shopping malls, MRT trains and buses. Service staff that can't even speak & understand simple English. Accelerated property price increase even in a recession year - due to foreign workers buying up resale public housing and also the work of syndicates cornering the market.

To make thing worse for our children - the influx of foreigners have led to an increase in crimes like gambling, prostitution and lower public safety in general. We are also seeing growth of foreigners' enclaves in Geylang, Little India and Boon Lay areas - leading to possibility of slum &or gang formation especially when they suddenly get retrenched and do not want to be repatriated. Easy availability of cheap foreign labor also means that blue-collar jobs in general command very low salary in Singapore - as a result those young people that get sent for vocational education at the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) are told that their future is bleak as ITE stands for It's The End as they will have to compete with cheap foreign labor which the PAP ministers like to pride as the magic bullet to most of our labor resource problems.

PAP govt has been dragging its feed on its plan to raise worker's productivity - it's most concrete action so far is to resurrect Teamy the Productivity Bee mascot that was buried in the 80s - imagine going to the graveyard to look for answers. The NTUC which is suppose to be the worker's guardian is equally to blame for this lack on concrete plan to raise worker's productivity and to agreeing to the influx of cheap foreign workers.

Now there is even a call by Singaporeans to replace their PAP ministers & NTUC leaders with foreign talents as they will be cheaper to maintain and will be more productive to employ. Singapore has already started down this road by getting foreign talents to run institutions like NOL and DBS Bank - why not the government and labor union as well?
